Tim was an instructor for 25 years at NAIT and Fairview College. Tim taught in the area of pesticides, weeds, soils and surveying.

Tim holds a BSc. Ag from the University of Alberta, a Turfgrass diploma from Fairview College, an Alberta Journeyman Landscape Gardener Certificate, an Instructor Diploma from Vancouver Community College and a Pesticide Applicators License in Alberta in the Agriculture, Industrial and Landscape categories. Tim is a professional agrologist (P.Ag.) with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists.

Tim has also worked for 5 years for an agricultural chemical company, two summers in industrial vegetation management, is an owner of a spraying company and currently farms in the summer.
